Yep - same stuff I'll be using for sealing my 3500 litre FT in January. Below is the link to the exact product;

Kelly, I assume yours was one of the two that are suitable for potable water.

Yeah, thought you would have.

You didn't happen to try the Polyfab fabric that you can immerse in the liquid to make it stronger did you ?

I'm thinking of maybe putting it on the bottom of the tank as things will move around on the floor/bottom from time to time.

No we didn't sorry Chilli, can't help you there.The only fabric used was a backyard job. i.e a piece of old t-shirt to cover the old tap outlet. Just a coat of sealer on first then while it's still wet stick on the fabric then paint over( about 4 coats). Like I said it's holding up no leaks.

Due to being flat out with work and the good growth in the gravel bed the marron tank is on hold till after harvest. Looks like we're gonna have to make lots of chili and tomato relish... Damn

15th of January and living in Northampton, harvest must have well and truly finished!! But then I suppose you haven't nominated which year :D :D

Your system looks great and looks like it is producing well.

I'm considering putting in a marron tank, but I'm planning on keeping it separate from my existing system, shading it heavily, and maybe only putting in the equivalent of one GB for about 5000L. As they don't eat much, they can't sh*@t much, therefore less demand for nutrient uptake. (??)

Yeah harvest well and truly finnished Rick, was just talking about the chilli's n tomato's.You're right about which year though, it get's like that around this house.
We are thinking about changing which tank to convert to marron tank.Maybe 1 of the smaller oval tanks.We would then empty the gravel out of the bigger round gb and fill it with the hydroton from the oval bed, we still have a few unopened bags in the shed so hopefully just enough.The bigger round gb gets more sunlight than the other bed so things might grow better.Also the marron will be just to look at as much as anything and the oval bed is half on the veranda giving better access.We've got 5 marron sitting in old cray crates floating in the fishtank at the moment so it will be good to get them out of there at some stage.

We still need more fish as there's only about 60 in the tank ranging from 3" to 12".Have ordered another 100 fingerlings from the fish farm which should be ready soon. These will go in our 2 solar systems which will act as nurseries while the fish from them will be added to the main system.

Didn't do this in time before the death, although don't know if it would have made a difference. We now have half a dozen marron looking pretty happy in their new home.

Good chance it was heat stroke Faye.We had them suspended in cray crates in the main fish tanks. Water levels had dropped in this heat and although he was still underwater most of the time, he was high n dry when the growbeds were full.It was a case of ' I know I need to do that job just didn't do it in time'.
