The subject pretty much says it all!

Pm me if you're in melbourne and want some, i have 20 odd babies 3 or 4mm and 4 adults.

Beautiful fish, breed at the drop of a hat, and VERY entertaining to watch, best kept by themselves if you have a male and female but are ok with others when not breeding.

below is a pic of 4 large jade perch and 4 convicts in the corner of a 4ft aquarium, they are banished there by the breeding pair that is defending their young!

Your tank could use a bit of a clean steve, the poly pipes look a lot nicer when they are white

u talkin about the green ones?

The plasic is made that colour, i think it helps inhibit the algae growth in them as green is the only part of the spectrum they don't use for photosynth.

I'm stoked that the pvc pipe have that brown coating, makes the tank look rustic and suits the theme :)

They certainly are, was just thinking abut them last night, the jades have realsied that they don't have to put up with the convitcs crap............ :)

Would you like the randy breeding pair or a handfull of the babies, or both :)

after about 8pm week nights or a sunday are the best time for me.

Which suburb were you in?
Steve

Both the breeders and some babies would be fantastic, but I dont want to be greedy if others are interested.
I am in Port Melbourne, at the moment, moving to oakleigh in the next 2 weeks- where my tank and blue barrels are. This Sunday may be a goer is it suits

Are Convict Cichlids edible? If so - I'll come get a couple!

Aeldric, I assumed that they weren't i'll be dissapointed if they are, as i gave royale two breening pairs + an extra male quite large ones, and about 12 babies!

I have one adult male left and probably 6 babies that escaped the net.

I'll probably just leave them there until they grow big enough to catch, and seperate the males if some turn out to be female!

You would be hard pushed to make a meal out of them, but I guess you could try...

I won't be though, they are destined to be my tough-it-out cycle starters after which they well be retired to an aquarium to go forth and multiply.
