Would the PondMax 3000L, be okay for a IBC with a grow bed of around 300 litres minus the gravel?

Now Christmas is done and dusted I need to pull finger out and get my system finished. The next step is to get a pump, timer and gravel. Then I can start cycling the system getting it ready for plants and fish.

More than enough... allowing/depending on the head.... you should have spare capacity...

I ended up getting a 4800lph pump via eBay, comes with a 2 year warranty. Hopefully it'll be doing a test run pretty soon.

Good luck - the only pump I ever bought off ebay turned out to have a flow rate of about 1/4 of what was quoted and despite warranty the seller insisted on me paying for postage back to them if I wanted them to have a look at it and even consider replacement. Needless to say it would have been throwing good money after bad

With a pump that size you might want to put in a bypass back into the fish tank for some of the flow.

My Lord

Put a T junction in the pipe coming out of the pump and put a tap on it. Point the tap straight back into the tank. You can then adjust the amount of water being pumped out of the other end of the pipe by opening and closing the tap :D

Cool, I was hoping it would be that simple. Thanks for the info.
