Well if you follow the moon cycles, it is the new moon today. Accordingly, planting leafy type seedlings is best done from tomorrow to before Nov 25... So maybe you should get some... Try to disturb the root as minimum as possible when transplanting to the growbed, and it should start growing quickly....

Hi people.
Water temp yesterday was only 17c and the silver perch were not interested in moving at all. I fed a tiny bit and not one of them moved.

Today water temp was only 18c and some of them moved.
Can't wait for some more constant warm weather.
Things are slowly starting to come good, it's been a long time coming.
I have some flowers on the capsicum and some of the seeds look like they have germinated. Hopefully they will keep on growing.
I am so glad things are starting to work. Very frustrating when things are going badly.
See what tomorrow brings

I would like to try some more strawberries, is it too late to plant them?

Thanks stargate, I have only salted to 1ppt so I would have though this would be OK even for strawbs. I am going to get some basil first.
I have around 40ppm of nitrates so I need some more plants.
PH: 7.6
AMM: 0
Nitrite: .25
Temp: 22c
Should plant some tomatoes but they go wild and I don't have anywhere at the moment for them to climb. I could try and train them over the edge of the grow bed.

This morning tank temp was 21c silvers, Koi and goldies happy zuchini and capsicum growing well.
I planted some basil seadlings tonight and some watermelon seeds.
Hopefully the watermelon seeds will do better than the seedlings which all died.

I will try and get some pics tomorrow for anyone who is interested.

Hi all.
I noticed a watermelon seed has germinated.
I planted it on the 2nd december.
I hope it keeps going.
Everything else is going OK.

I have 50 small silvers in my sump, some of them are growing really well
the others have stayed very small. At what point do they need to be graded.
I am guessing the bigger ones would be getting to the food quicker.
The big ones would be around 70mm long

Been a busy time over christmas and new year.

Had a good look at the system today and the PH has dropped to around 6.8.
I will have to go and get some shell grit tomorrow to buffer it back up a little.

There is alot of people talking about nutrient lockout at certain high PH readings.
Is there any sort of scale that shows at what points either high or low when this lockout
occurs.

I had some watermelon seeds germinate and then they died off. I think or hope it was
the 40C days we had before I managed to get some shade over them.

I will try and take some more photo's tomorrow and maybe some of you might be able
to give me some advice. I have 0 Ammonia and 0 nitrite and around 40ish nitrate but
things just don't seem to be growing very well. Except the Silvers they seem to be going OK.

That is excellent thanks for that.
All should be OK at the moment then with the pH.

Anyone got any ideas why the plants are not doing very well?

The heat might have been knocking them around before you shaded things.... what pumping cycle are you running??
