Sorry if calling it a box instead of a bed caused some confusion. Our original design directly copied the “earth box”. The things work awesome, but there are no fish in them :wink: .

Hey johnmc, kidding aside…. the garlic is from our cupboard. I went and asked the boss the variety and she said “non Chinese organic”. Sorry, that is the best answer I could come up with. Cheers :mrgreen:

Hey, no qualms. Just found it interesting taking a off the shelf bulb and growing a new one like that. Reading this forum expands my ignorance of what I thought would grow in AP. I never considered it possible to grow garlic, sweet onion, etc in AP. I just assumed that as the plant matured, the outer husk would start to mold and the plant would rot/die.

Turned out to be mealy bugs. I wiped them out with alcohol swabs.

Ha - you beat me to it...

I believe one of the after effects of mealy bugs can be their poop (known it as Black City Mold). It is actually thier poop and will attact other pests. Watch the plants close as they are very difficult to get rid of completely.
