Maybe cheapest in Australia??
Best price I could find elsewhere (on east coast) was $65/100.
Pretty amazing really when you consider that they didnt even breed them themselves. Makes you wonder at what price Freo TAFE sold them for.

Yep... at 35mm.... that's about half what the normal price would be... and come Jan when they factor water & power increases in... most hatcheries will probably double their prices...

Certaintly. As long as you feed them 40% protein food they will do well. I overwintered around 500 through the coldest months. They were tiny too, around 10-20mm.

I also needed to bring my own container to transport in, esky in my case, unlike the fish store that bagged the fish I bought.
They also asked if I had a battery powered aerator - which I didn't. All 100 made it home safe though.

I got 100 today, small though about 20 to 30mm mostly. Still OK value at 40c each but not great value.

Mine are still small after a week :) But as you say, 39c each is pretty good - and plenty of summer left to get them big enough to winter.

39 cents/100... 20-30mm... that's half the price many others charge...

20-30mm from Golden Ponds... were these the ones spawned at Freo.... thought they were 30mm+ when they went to Golden Ponds... sounds more like they were 10-15mm...

good to know they are good value, the bloke at Golden Ponds said they were spawned on site in conjunction with Challenger TAFE, I don't know if this is Freo Tafe ?

Oh... the way I read the Challenger thread... I thought they'd been spawned and raised from fry to 30mm fingerlings... in tanks at Challenger.... in about 60 days... an Australian first

They were called 30 - 35mm :) Look might small to me - but I am not a fish size estimator by trade!
I even had to take the guys word that I took 100 home with me.

I've just had 2000 of them dropped into my tank at home :)

Thanks Bryce and Co for picking them up for me while I am in SA, and Vic.
