Your strawberries are doing really well. I only have one ripe strawberry at the moment. Lots of flowers that dont seem to be doing anything.

I use my finger to gently transfer pollen from flower to flower. I've heard an old toothbrush does the same thing. I have also seen some native bees flying around and on the flowers. Many they are small compared to the european bees! I had left three ripe strawbs to take a phot but the boys got to them before me. Heaps more flowers coming through so should be able to get some photos of ripe strawbs. Do you have salt in your system? I haven't salted yet as all the fish seem to be doing really well. No salt for me until absolutely needed.

No salt...but I might try the brush on the flowers. I am doing it with the tomatoes and they are taking off. I hadnt really done it with the straberries as like you say there was a lot of insect activity which I though may have done the trick.

test results for tonight:

ph 7.4
Amm 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 40
temp 20

Also bought some cheap arbours from b for $10. Will set up the grape vine arbours tomorrow. I have enough fittings to turn them into a auto siphons but am keen to have a constant flow constant height system happening with them.

I am thinking that I will go the constant flow/height and if the grapes look like they are suffering, then will change over as required. The way I see it, the water should have more than enough DO for the root system not to rot. Can only give it a go I guess.

Quachy

Did a daily inspection fo the fish last night and while feeding the cod, I noticed right at the bottom one big mumma of a fish. I thought to myself, how the hell did a silver get from one tank to the other? Had a closer look, nah, no way is that a cod? is it? The fish kept swimming near the bottom and around the SLO pipe so I couldn't get a good look. Then it swam closer to the surface and sure enough it's a cod! I'll try to catch and or take a photo tonight but from the looks of it, I need to get it and about 6 or 7 others out and into another tank before they start munching on their buddies
