It's wierd but there are only a few farms here in ES but Honduras is loaded with Tilapia farms.

I visited one place that raises them in cages in a lake there and they harvest 50,000 lbs per DAY!. Fly them out in Two Jets daily to Florida and Seattle. uses the waste to make biodiesel for his trucks. No waste whatsoever. Pretty impressive.

Hi DT:

Go Man Go!

Are both of the water areas available, or just half of it? It will look really nice with a garden covering it...

I envy your temperatures, it is getting cold around here nowadays!

What happened to Joyce; I am sure she would be interested in your missionary calling.

It might be nice to make a growbed that sits down in the pila, resting on the lip, that could otherwise be lifted out whenever you want. The thing looks like it is 95% close to being an AP setup already...

DT...that's where a majority of the Tilapia in our region comes from aside from our Southern US facilities in Florida and California. Most Tilapia is now imported from Central America thanks to NAFTA (thanks Clinton) which caused our Tilapia market proces to drop to ridiculous prices. It's not worth starting a fish farm here anymore thanks to Clinton. More jobs outsourced and a nation plummeting into global dependency. I wonder if the Aussies are in the same boat?

Sturgeon would be the best fish to farm here.

I had the neatest experience! I said earlier I was off to get some lava rock for the grow bed. Well I literally went to the volcano and dug the rock out. It looked like a moonscape. It was beautiful. Anyway I was worried it would be hard to clean. Well it is already clean! All I did was run a hose over it and barely anything came out and what did was a fine sand. The water was never cloudy.
I also got to meet some kids who helped me find the place where the smaller gravel was.

Here are some pics of the lava rock I got. The whole bit cost me $1.00 US and that was just a tip. I did have to drive about 20 miles from my house to the volcano though

Some of the rocks may be a bit large but they break easily with your hands.

I got two tubs full in case I want to quickly add another growbed besides the big one.
