Spot on Duff !

Also, if you are making interest payments on land that is being used to make an income, then they are a tax deduction against other forms of income (same as having a tenant in a rental property).

But of course it all comes down to how comfortable you are with the debt level, ability to service the loan, and just how weird the banks decide to be on any given day.

man, dunno what your rent is gonna be, but it's gonna be a lot of fish per month to make the lease payments. Best of luck with it all :) I hope it all works out for you.

Good on ya OBO, I reckon that fresh fish and veg in Kal would be a winner, I wish you the best of luck.

I would imagine that buying and leasing industrial/commercial land in Kal would not be cheap

The seafood truck that used come up weekly to Kambalda from Esperance was always a big hit.

Advertise fresh fish down there and you should have people flocking in OBO !

Best of luck !

If you go the building route later remember to install cooling tubes under the slab and throughout the yard. Keep the running costs down on cooling.

Thanks for the encouragements guys.

I have a (yet to be signed) exlusivity contract with a prominent caterer. They want 50 - 80 x 1/2kg fish a week. Trout and Silvers. What should I be charging them? Was thinking around $10 ea from what I can gather. Gidgi sells them for $24 a kilo, delivered live.

The block is not just for AP, it is mostly for the mechanical side of my business. We are planning on spending a LOT of time in the shed 'cough' so it is already pretty good to live in :D

The house with the current AP system will be sold, so any takers

Block is only $2400 a month in total, so being totally tax deductable makes it pretty good  Thats very close to the house repayments.

Yup, hoping too.

I am going to concentrate on things that I now know grow very well out here, in both winter and summer.

Corn, Tomato's, capsicum, melons in summer. Beans, and stuff in winter :)

The main problem is actually getting hold of decent sized fish tog et everything started. I will have the system up and running by the end of February, which will allow it to settle before adding about 2 million Trout lol.

Kidding on 2 million :D

It's a crazy plan OBO but I like it, the best ones always are. You will be the only bloke in Aust who pays rent in fish and has more vegies than he knows what to do with. Good on you, the world needs more risk takers on the greener side of things to have any future. Well done!

Cool, well that means I should be able to get $10 live. It costs a bit more than that out here.

Best of luck with it OBO, it's those who put their nuts on the block like this that make the rest of us look soft. If it works out you won't be the least bit sorry, I love being able to play AP at work, now if I could just make the kids stay at home, life would be perfect :D
