VB, the bread crates would have to be food grade. They actually came from the corporate mega-giants we all love to hate...

Why would they have to be food grade. I mean food grade for water storage really.

Good point, cos they are used for storage, rather than direct contact.hmmmm how would one find out wheter it is food grade or not?

Most plastic items have a stamped code that tells you what they are made of. Another member posted some stuff about this in another thread, LiveBeyond or VB perhaps???

The bread crates are definitely food grade. I was told in no uncertain terms by the manufacturer . They are just checking to see if they are UV stablised.
These are to go in the ibc for the redclaw. We had already decided to take the ibc out of its crate and paint it before we use it, to save it from the sun. The crates will most likely be in out of the sun mostly anyway.

Edit Update: The crates are UV stabilised too. Good to go!

Hey Simmo, I think I have a copy of that report about the farming of Silver perch with Marron and the results were not as good as hoped. Take it from me the Perch will definately eat marron. I guess if your Perch are smallish and the marron large you shouldnt have too many problems except when the marron moult perhaps. With all the hides in your setup it sounds like they have plenty of places to hide whilst moulting.
