Gemmel, with fan and sprays, I kept the temps at 24. Despite most of my plants suffering badly in the exposed GBs, I NEED to get some shade. Soon!

We did notice there was a bit of suspended matter in the tanks for trout you need pristine water
also the bigger the fish the more air you need
Just my thoughts

Well I treated the sick Koi yesterday afternoon.
I gave them a salt bath.
I think I may have made a mistake though, as I salted the bath to APwater + 75ppt, rather than the 10 I was aiming for.
I was REALLY surprised how long they could handle it for! The turned belly up and stopped breathing within 5 seconds!!! The younger, less effected Koi simply jumped straight out and onto the floor, I had to physically restrain them for a few seconds in the bath!
Anyhow, despite some close calls, DW says they're recovering well today from the salt ordeal, now to see if it fixed their nasty wounds/ulcers.

continuous to top two beds
+
30 mins on 90 mins off on the new 4 beds down the back.

Trout tank was spotless this morning.
I think the particles came from feeding a bit to see if they would, and that food rotting. Now that the temps are cooler, and the trout are active all is well, and clean.
Temps are 15 degrees this arvo.

Gemmel, any chance of you eating another smallish trout and weighing ungutted and gutted?
I was so annoyed that I didn't weigh mine prior to cleaning, and there is NO information on size/weight for trout.

Kuda... I've found most trout I've pulled between 300-400mm... to be about equivalent weight... i.e 300-400gm...

However near the top of the range... the trout seem to stack on weight rather than length...

that's whole weight Rupe? not gutted right?
So my weight of 150g / 240mm would mean >60g of guts? I guess that's believable. Damn I wish I'd weighed him!

KP I bought one of these thermo's from the B store for $12, just drop the lead into the water and read off outside temp. Sit the unit on top and read the ambient temp. Beauty is will store max and min temps during the day/night. Don't know how long it will last, has been in the tank for over a month now.
