No need to bring a shovel, we've got plenty here already. Mind you, a bobcat or two might help. :)

Sorry sold it, wish I still had it but it tipped the toys balance the wrong way  . Wouldn't mind Rob's excavator for another weekend again though :D

Well why don't we just plonk the baby daughter in the centre of the tank with a bucket and shovel? Then we can sit back with a bourbon and coke and watch the sunset. It's the aquaponics way... isn't it?

This project has taken me a lot longer than I thought it would. Welcome to the club eh?
The water in the fish pond started to go green and I had to find a way to keep the sunlight out of it.
Boards over the pond was the temporary solution, but a bit ugly.

I had heard about duckweed, but it needed still water. So I experimented with a PVC frame which allowed the water in the pond to move, but kept the surface water calm for the duckweed.

This is the current solution.

The azolla and duckweed are kept within their own sections while the water in the clear sections can be agitated by fountains or water coming in from the growbeds.
I plan to design seating next to the clear rectangled sections so that we can sit and feed the koi and golfish which are in this pool.

Regards
Graham

Love the PVC idea for the duckweed - would have looked great in my old formal pond.

I also really like the duck weed idea.
The rest of the system looks like it is going to be really nice as well.
Can't wait to see more pictures as it comes along.

Thanks Scott.
I have been a bit slack and need to update it. Quite a bit has changed and hopefully I will get some time soon.

Graham
