We have set up a trellis for the tomatoes. They have overwhelmed it and kept growing. We may trim them but are waiting to see what the crop will look like.

Not a bad problem to have though

A funny thing happened to Lynn and I...

A few weeks ago we added 40 Silver Perch to our second, empty tank only to find that they had disappeared after a week or so. We suspected a bird attack as there were no silver perch to be found anywhere in the tank so we then added 50 Bara fingerlings and put some temporary netting on the tank until we could make something more permanent.

Today, the silver perch have re-appeared and they are quite a bit bigger. The only thing we can think of is that they must have hidden in some of the many pieces of PVC offcuts that we've littered the floor with for future yabbies.

Both the silver perch and the bara are comfortably co habiting and sharing a meal.

I guess we'll have to separate them before too long. We have to cull the 15 rainbow trout in the other tank soon as the weather is heating up and they are at least pan sized with some being a meal for two.

So we're very happy.

 Steve and Lynn
