anyone know what the marks on this fish indicate (they are on both sides of the head)?

this is the 2nd one that has turned up like this :(
I salted to about 1ppt about a wk ago but dont want to salt too heavy as i'm not sure the redclaw will tolerate it.

looks almost as if it has had its head jammed in something/somewhere... - the rest of the fish was okay?

where the water flows OUT of your barra tank... what is the gap between the pipe, and the bottom of the tank?

I got my last bath tub - a few marks i'm a little concerned about will post pics later.

You need to increase salt by 3ppt in one hit to kill stuff off. Salting to 1ppt will help reduce stress 'n all though.

I don't know what that is - was it in the same position on the other dead'n? How did you go with other fish (bad exp with bathtubs)?

fine with the other fish only salted when i first got them - very limited deaths.

I dont want to salt to high as there are redclaw in the system too and not sure of there tolerances. Guess i will read up a bit and salt higher if it continues.

What confuses me is that the 'wound' looks fresh, no infection or anything... it looks as if it ha been scraped off by something - which is why I asked about the clerance between the pipe and the bottom of the tank - are there any other structures in the tank... cant remember seeing any.... :?

Just pulled a 1.049kg barra from the system (see pic) the other 2 were around 650grms. They have had 8 months to grow since i got them at 35mm. Probably do a harvest of 25 or so in a month then leave the rest to grow through winter (hopefully).
