yeah, he will have more within 6 weeks - I didnt think you would need that many - and they are hard to get *anyway*.

I have a barra aquaculture farm here near my house, and when I asked them for 40 small ones, they said - just let us know when and we will help you.

Then when i asked for them, they turn around and said - we are having trouble getting them, sorry go away.

I think for small quantity orders these guys will help, or put in a forward order (takes 6 weeks to get em to 100mm).

The guy on the phone did not know much, the other fella who served me? he seemed a lot more knowledgeable about stocking densities etc.

Any local catfish suppliers? I've seen some interstate ones, although out of stock..

I am at a crossroads, where I can either find some catfish and put them in a second tank on the existing system, or build a seperate system with an old freezer/thermostat setup as a sump for that same second tank and get an early start on some trout..

In the long run, I will probably end up with both, when I have a 3rd tank.. for now, it's just a matter of which I can get hold of first..

No catfish fingerlings available in NSW... from what I've been able to ascertain in the last months...

Victoria seems to be the only place where some might be available...

Reviving this thread, I'm also in Adelaide Hills and will be soon needing Silver Perch fingerlings for my 2500L FT. The #1aquaponics pricing seems very high, so any leads would be most welcome.

What are they charging?

Sometimes you need to consider your location... look at us poor old outbackers! My SP had to travel 700km to get to my door and trust me they weren't cheap.

In the past Ive paid up to $7 a fish.... why?, because it was my only option. but thats how it is.

Advanced (50-70mm) or small (30-40mm)
