Can any one tell me if there is anything I can do with the guts? Any recipes for turning it into goodies for garden or can you use it in fish food? I hate the thought of wasting it after filleting.
I dont have a cat to give scraps to. Do cats even eat that stuff these days?? Seems they get all these fancy gourmet meals and start to get a bit picky about what they eat!!
You will love this part.... I dont even get my system delivered until Wednesday and Im already planning on what to do with my fish guts!!!!

Always good to stick fish guts and carcasses under fruit trees, and an excuse to plant more fruit trees too...

My dog loves fresh fish guts, and if a cat isn't spoiled too much it will eat them. :)

My chickens love fish parts. Skin, guts, etc.

Burying the unused fish parts in the garden is also great and under fruit trees etc. It isn't a waste when you use it as fertilizer.

Or you can put it in the compost pile if your compost is good and hot. That way the smell is dealt with quickly.

Whatever you do, don't put fish guts/parts in the trash can, that will cause a horrible smell and attract flies and the trash can will never be the same again.

Still got a bit more room, and due to the availability of the spiders soon, I have the ability with my current system to do more :)

Hey Quachy,
Hmmm, fish sauce, interesting!! It stinks when you use it in cooking so I can only image what it would be like to make it.
But there ya go. Another use for fish bits.

Vietnamese fish sauce is great in asian dishes and made into a sweet/spicy dipping sauce (I'm Vietnamese). Never made the stuff myself, but mum and dad used to back in Vietnam. Might give it a crack when I harvest enough fish guts. I f I make some, who's game to try it
