I usually scale and eat the skin, but yeah.
So 200-250mm is ideal? I'm not sure if you mean grams

So... does nobody know at what length their trout were when harvested?
How does one gauge the weight if not by length?
Weighing with scales to decide which to eat is not going to happen here... :-(

OK, so without weighing them, can somebody suggest to me how I select which and when they are ready to eat?

Grab it and cook it...
Then see if it was big enough to fill you up

Oops I forgot to say they were about 300mm each and 350+g

hmm know it was 240mm, would you put it back and try again later or what?

Think I will just leave mine until they have to come out. Only got 15 left anyway so might as well let them grow out to the last minute

This was my thought, and for the same reason, only have 20-30 left... but I'm impatient, I wanna eat my first fish, but I'm too tight to eat him too early in case it was worth keeping him longer. :-(

I've pulled about a dozen of my trout so far (about 2-3 weeks ago)... all between 280-350mm... averaging about 300gm+...

They were quite acceptable at that size and two were a good feed for a sitting...

Each time you decrease the fish load you feed more and the fish get nervous and binge eat
The 2 trout we had tonight were just right for the volume of meat in a meal.
Less would have been fine also supplimented with AP veg  no photos
