Not too fussed. The little guys appear happy and hungry.
I've got a well established system now, won't be scared to pump lot's of food into them.

went and had a look at my mates trout today to see if I could see any white spot. Saw a bit of fin rot, but only on a few fish. Size variances were huge, seems they are half way thru a batch or something :? Suggested he salt to 3ppt as a precaution.

Scott what percent shade cloth do you use on your system? I am up near Rockhampton and the heat is lethal here even in Winter. On eBay I have seen shade cloth on offer in the 30 to 50% range but was thinking that 50% may cut out too much light??

If you find it cheap, let us know.... dam stuff'll send me broke covering my driveway, but then I only checked prices at 'B' and many of you know how I feel about those overpriced rip off merchants...

The annoying thing was that there was some 50m rolls on Ebay for half the cost of Bunnings but when I checked again today they were gone. I will be keeping my eyes open as I need to do a large area.

Keep your eyes open and check.....if there is a guarranty/warranty with the shade cloth
you buy.
I think Australian Made shade cloth has a 20 year warranty.

If that cheap stuff is not Aussie made......what's the guaranty/warranty?

Thanks links are helpful. I will also take onboard the quality and warranty issues as well.

To the couple who I chatted with today, and asked......
"This aquaponics thing sounds great, but what do you actually get out of it?"
Well....
Yesterday, I was fishing in my backyard and was lucky enough to catch a few trout
I fired up my new smoker and ate hot smoked trout, cold beer and fresh bread for lunch. :D
Tonight - Smoked trout salad with AP coriander, spring onions, parsley, snow peas and mint. Served with rice noodle.
Life's tough

Great work!! I have recently eaten my first home grown trout too. How big were they and how much did they weigh? They look a bit bigger than mine did... mine are about 25cm
