We have a few people that grow plants indoors but most of us grow most of our veggies in the sun.

Which type of hydroponic lighting to use will depend on the space and the types of plants you wish to grow.

Is this for an Aquaponics system?

How big is the grow bed? What are you growing it in while it is inside? If you have short stuff like lettuce in there I would say Florescent grow lights will work, you just keep them quite close to the plants and move them up as the plants grow.

If you want to get into in depth info about different types of grow lights and which to use when and such, you might do an internet search for hydroponic sites and forums.

I've only used T5 Florescent grow lights and generally only over lettuce.

Hello,
I am using in my indoor system both MH (metal hallide) and HPS (high pressure sodium) lamps.
150W each.
They are complementary - emitting diffrent types of lights needed for plants.
In my system they can be switched both at the same time for more light or
one after another during a day if less light is needed - so it is quite flexible.
Generally at the beginning plants require more cool white spectrum provided by MH
and during blooming and fruiting more orange one which HPS is a efficient source of.
