Hi Kuda

First photo looks like spinach (the posh baby stuff).

Second one looks like cauliflower seedlings but I'm not sure.

Third one looks like a badly chewed Boc Choy.

The four in one Photo, clockwise from top left, looks like squash (or similar), lettuce, betroot or chard, and lastly raddish.

Slug reduction, the only thing I have found that works is raising the water level and picking them off as they climb out of the gravel.

I forgot to say!
I was digging in the GB to plant these seedlings of F&F when I found, not a compost worm, but a full size 6 inch lon 1/4 inch diameter earth worm making his way through my GB. I was quite surprised! I didn't think they'd like the GB so much.

I think these are definitely starting to look like Raddish.
I think I planted some shaped like carrots, and am assuming these are those.

Well I bought a thermometer today. At 7:00pm it was 26 degrees. Trout were feeding well this morning. All trout at the bottom of the tank, not gasping for air at the surface.
Any thoughts? I don't want to harvest yet.

Np Milne, thanks for the tip. I look forward to seeing what the temps are at feeding time tomorrow.

Ihave watered the GB's with the hose, (since I am now F&D) in between floods.
Also I have sprayed the whole enclosure for 10 minutes to cool everything down a bit..
Though that is rain water and not a permanent solution.
The temp in the FT at max today was 19.5 back to 17 tonight.
Has been to 21.5
You guys have some heat coming your way, best of luck. :flower:
If your trout are low and you have heaps of air... I don't think you can
do much more.

I just ran a quick and dirty experiment: fan over a pan of water. Air temp is 27degC (80degF) and the fan keeps it down about 18degC (64degF). I have no idea how much heat moving air will suck from the water (it depends on humidity, temperature differential, air volume and speed, and water surface area), but running fans on the fish tank (on the water, not on the tank!!!) and (possibly) running fountains might really help get through these hot spells.

Yeah, I just can't think of any gear I have in order to set up a cooling tower. :-(
water this am was 24. A couple were feeding
all the trout were at the bottom and the water is boiling with air.
I too know not what to do.

Kuda have you got shade over the tank and grow beds? I would try fan on water and maybe small pump/sprinkler in the fan, and ice once or twice a day. I keep 3L milk containers with water in the beer fridge and in the freezer I take one from the freezer put it in the tank take the one from the tank and put it in the fridge take the one from the fridge and put it in the freezer. Last year at the most desperate point I used bags of supermarket ice. But without shade I doubt you will succeed.
