well , here's a picture of the thing thats going to weigh down my bin starting tomorrow

This UPS worked fine last time there was a power cut , that lasted for 2 hours on a fresh battery

today the power went out at 2:30 in the afternoon , so hey , I'll plug in the UPS !

nope , it doesnt work with my car battery ( not high enough charge ? wrong colour or bloody flavour or something ?! ) , so I parked my car in the yard , plugged in a cigarette lighter powered mattress pump and proceeded to run my battery dry ( dont ask me why I didnt keep my car running , for 5 hours , or I'll have to go on a rant about why I like AP ) .

The mattress pump wasnt enough , so I just spent 5 hours with a watering can scooping and pouring water from all 5 seperate tanks , in the rain with a smashed hand from brickworking today.
I swear all the trout popped their heads out and said "thankyou" in unison once the power came back on

The small chickens are now in the coop with the others under the end growbed , getting beaten up and put in their place . one tried to crow yesterday so Duckpond might have to come over with his killing knife soon

despite all that , the Pizza oven is progressing !

Its just been rendered in BRIGHT RED ! took all day but it looks nice .I've dubbed it "FUNCOOKER" and etched it into the front .

I hope it works , anyone know how to cook big fat trout in a pizza oven ?

Don't know how long the battery would last...

an inverter running at the full 300 watt will draw about 35 - 40 amps @ 12v from the battery, maybe a bit more.

Up to 1 hour on a small car battery, maybe 2 on a landcruiser sized battery.

that should do the trick then - the trout seem to survive for a good 2 hours+ straight before they start gasping at the surface for air , so I could plug a battery in for half an hour for air , then take it off for another hour or two ( or even recharge it with my alternator ... )

OK trout weight :
of the 11 I killed over the last few days to eat , they've all been around 210 grams after Ive removed the head and guts , so thats pretty much all meat

Im having trouble weighing them whole cause they keep moving ( yes , I could kill them them weight them next time ... )

Tomatoes are going MENTAL , theyre growing a foot a day

Boris,
The trout that i got from you are going great guns. Haven't weighed them yet, buthad three go belly up the other week and they were 30cm+ and probably weighed somewhere between 400-500g. Really gotta buy some scales :D
Altho i still have some little one's that are pretty much the same size as some of the bigger one's i got from you. maybe a little bigger, but not much.
How many you got left now?
