Yeah suppose... rinse/dry, rinse with a mild detergent/dry.... then rinse with clean water and dry.... probably Ok...

mild detergent you say?...
as in?, i take it dishwahing stuff won't cut it, i've been trying to avoid any kind of soap in my little system

Alternatively... use a vinegar/lemon juice solution...

Generally would try to stay away from detergents... but should be OK... just make sure you rinse/dry several times after...

Well, i've hit another snag with my bigger one... so back to this one....

In this system and my super-duper small one, PH has been constantly 8
the only way it ever lowered in the little-little one was with that "PH down" stuff
then straight back up to a soild 8 the next day (might have been 2 days)

last system had little aquarium rocks for the growing media, later it was a mix of that and blue-metal
this system is all blue-metal, there was some shells of some sort in the old one, so i blamed that.
theres no shells or anything like it in this system, still soild 8

i'll be getting some silver perch very soon i think, is 8 ok for them? the plants seem happy enough

at the moment all thats in it is yabbies and muscles (which might be dead) little system had yabbies and live muscles
