add another 50-100k to build greenhouses and proper post gb filtration to enhance fish water quality. Could be an AP proposition, in its current size is def not a commercial fish raising proposition. Even at 100kg/cubic metre those 4 by 5000lt tanks will only cough up 2 tonne/year, at $10kg farmgate, that's 20 grand. Need to grow a LOT of lettuce just to cover the interest.
how much of the water licence was available this year?
Why do those 'irrigated' paddocks look so dry?
possible saline water issues
Grumpy old man tonight, rose coloured glasses have come off. Lotta dotting of i's and crossing of tees need to be done there. Nice looking place tho!
Syndicate sounds like fun. Every board member tips in a grand, contributes to its operation via roster over the year and there is money left over for greenhouses etc. It really could be done, but terms and conditions need to be really clearly defined.

4 X 5000 = 20,000ltrs = 20 cu mtrs @ $10kg = $200,000
did I miss a step? Without lettuce.

Checking my maths again C1.
20 cubic metres at100kg/cubic metre = 2000kg of fish at $10/kg = 20 grand
And at 100kg/cubic metre, that water has to be absolutely spot on 24/7, 365 or everything dies. Belting in air, UV, ozone, post gb drum filter, bioballs in return line, protein skimmers, dialled in water temp, the whole 9 yards.
At its current size it could be a similar setup to UVI, think they only have 4 fishtanks. It makes far more sense as an AP thing than an aquaculture thing, that is for sure.
Is my math ok?

i'll find out whats up with this place. i've heard stories about a few places like this and this place seems to fit the bill. something to do with how they are getting the water supply. something about unethical practices destroying ecosystems. you may never know so research research research.

sorry about bringing up a dead post but I couldent belive my eyes when i saw this post. I had a look at this place with the realestate ppl and bumped into the owner. he was growing barra in the steel tanks and marron in the long pool (about 400-500mm deep), his filter was another shed on the side with fiber glass sheets for the roof to let the light in, guessing about 8 by 5mtrs in size filled with water plants ie small palms, nothing realy edible. the floor(filter) was a big brick and concrete zigzag, the water was gravity fed from tanks to filter and pumped up again. He claimed he was makinig about $25,000 a year and that was just fish remember no veg. I`m sure i took some pics will try to find them
