Yeah, I've pretty much concluded that the two-hour exposure for full sun plants is a failure. Not too surprising. My plans for the fall are going to include things like broccoli and kale that like partial shade. Oh, and beans too.

The mussel shells were put in just as a buffer because I happened to have eaten some that night :).

I finally took out the tomato plant as I had hoped the cooler weather would allow it to set fruit. No such luck.

So I put in some basil and kale seeds today. The weather here is tricky. It goes from hot and humid to cold and dry very quickly. Not really much of a fall.

Shame about the tomatoes. I know that the northeast was wiped out by blight this year, so that might be the cause of your trouble, esp if you bought plants rather than started from seed: big box stores were selling infected plants...

That's a possibility I hadn't considered.

Long time, no post.

The basil is pretty much stunted in the cold. The kale has sprouted, and is starting to grow their first true leaves.

I got my worms today though! I'm pretty excited about it. I put a small handful in each GB bucket and the rest in my prepped worm bin.
