Thanks AM hope you enjoyed those barra 600g and 700g biggest of the lot so far.

Thanks again for the tank it was a good birthday present  went well with the 21 redclaw my wife got me :D . Anyway i am madly getting things together to have the tank ready for the redclaw in a high density design hopefully by the end of the week.

Unfortunately in the meantime they seem to be dying on me  Lost 4 (3 males + a female) and another is looking suss. I have the ones with berries in single buckets. The others are in those blue rectangular 60L containers 8 in each with enough pipe offcuts for them. Was going to do small water changes for water quality and DO.

Any ideas why they are dying got them yesterday?

If you can "escape proof" your sump tank I would put them in there for now - I am worried about both your DO level and amonia build up... even put them in the new tank with an air stone if need be, only half filled of course...

If you need, I have some spare quinkin and what we would need to setup a temp bio filter (pipes, container, small pump)... could use with the IBC to temp house the redclaw and give you a little more time to work...
The regular water changes are a must but could be stressing the redclaw too - they would be used to darker environments

Thanks AM
I lost another 4 today  So took your advice and put them in sump put gutter guard around edges. They seem happier already - see how it goes
The berried females i transfered so all 3 are in 1 of the 60l blu rectangular boxes. 1 at least seemed to have already lost some eggs (red with white things that fall to bottom) but them i am not sure what the live young look like. Anyone have a pic? Will do water changer to keep them happy through this wk - hopefully tank setup by wkend.
Any advice??

Yep, finish installing that tank ;)

The dropped berries will be discarded or dead babies... wont normally amount to much I would also place the females in the sump... rather safe than sorry...

There is a chance of that - just dump some weighed down and scrunched up shade cloth or similar into the tank with the redclaw - that will give them plenty of cover.

Alrighty. I have started thinking about pumps. As I will be moving from a 1000l to 2000l system do i need a bigger pump to fill the growbeds :?: :?

What about more sump volume - as the 500l is just enough to fill everything chift pist :?: Guess I might have to buy another ibc for bigger sump volume to keep filling everything.

How will it all be connected?? Perhaps a sketch/drawing - even a sketchup image... should go a long way to helping others give advice regarding pumps, sump etc...

After much effort and deaths
Redclaw tank has been plumbed in with a house and hides for 49 redclaw - currently would only have about 15. They seem to be using it to some degree 2 sitting on top tonight and 1 poked its head out of a middle layer (notsure if others are in hides). Pics of house follow

How much? Of What should i feed the Redclaw? How often?

AM I might have to go the following Sat havent even started filleting yet - you can go without me if you want

That structure is so much like what I imagined I would build for the redclaw - but never did  yours looks good and should work well
I can get your fish for you and 'house' them for you - I have the space and I don't mind in the least! Save you having to go up on a separate trip... Just a thought :)

Now that the Redclaw mansion has been built are you going to restock with more to replace the dearly deceased, or be patient and wait for the babies?
