Bree I can say I see a bit of a point, but this is what these programs are doing, I do find it quite sad that you have to log in to facebook to find out kids emotions, I said in the beginning that our kids used ICQ and cut them off MSN when daughter was getting abused by school kids, I also think we were lucky to bring our kids up in a very small country town, but if these sites continue then sadly the situation you describe will only escalate, I personally think they will die a slow death when the novelty wears off or they get taken over by scum, I would hate to have to take my laptop to the pub just so I can have a conversation
Nice Bundy Bear as well, I have an early life size one in my beer shed

Bree that is sad about finding more out about the kids on Facebook than in real life.....but it is so true.

My brother inlaw was spinning out about his own girls living on hotmail....then I went through a step by step intro ( simple enough even for me ) to re read their whole log  At least the parents could keep up with the kids bullshit

Bill thanks for the compliment  but my site is basic and serves it's purpose, there are heaps of free web design programs and you can upload via most FTP programs or Windows XP has it's own, over here anyhow most ISP's (Except BIGPOND  ) give you 10 or 20mb of free webspace so you end up with a web address of your isp plus username i.e. http://members.dodo.com.au/pnock where dodo is my isp, I use microsoft frontpage to edit my sites is a wysiwyg program much like word and publisher combined, if your isp or host supports frontpage extensions then you can upload straight from FP.

Like whaling, scientific reasons ?
We brought our kids up on a farm out of town, was the best thing for them, made them strong and stable and independant, I am proud of the three of them, but alas if facebook is where i have to go ill have to go there, at least i dont need to worry about creeps etc as they have had plenty of awareness training. Websites - cool, I did a goat one years ago with FP and it was fun, its only a matter of time before i create another, (trial and error), I am about to cam our goat kidding sheds so we can see whats happening remotely and if im doing that for my partner then my AP system is going online as well.
I have always wanted to set up a weather station online and for my own trending/feeding data and knocky ur footer has given me the info I needed, got to keep all projected up. (thanks)

Delivered another kid this arvo, Rup ull get to see it, thats about 8 this year so far, more to come

Anyway enough of a ramble

Bree

I like bundy bears, actually on a cruise not that long ago I found a drink "long Island Ice Tea", has rum in it, I fell in love with it, drank way to much of it, and bought a bottle duty free, ah on the news they just said they are going to attach bugs to out cars to track our KM's (wrong thread I know), where is George Orwell when u need him
The more I learn of society the more I withdraw and try and change it.
Grrr
But I love AP people
