I think I signed up for MySpace back in the beginning (before I knew better.) I thought it might be a good tool to help drive traffic to my web page.

There seem to be lots of people asking me to join facebook (including businesses that I have ordered products from which is kinda annoying me!) I really don't need people I knew in high school contacting me through it even if I really did know them. If some one out there remembers me and wants to find me, they should find it pretty easy to do using more traditional methods. I still have the same e-mail address that I had in college. Anyway, the whole data mining thing is what I dislike.

Ya know, a phone company that came up with a very simple cell phone for those of us who really want just a phone, could probably do very well. Make it simple, make it durable, make the battery long life and I bet there would be a huge portion of the population that would go for it. All the people that don't want to text, or twitter, or take photos with their phone, or try to surf the internet on a tiny little screen. A phone that you don't need to get an APP for each little thing you might want to do!!!!!!!

There is one TCL... I still have the old Nokia I brought for $69 (with $30 of credit included) about 5 years ago... it's been dropped a zillion times onto hard surfaces... trodden on... dropped into fish tanks, buckets, toilets... dried in the microwave....

And still performs exactly as it used to... it makes phonecalls... and sends text messages...

Mind you I will admit that the #3 button is starting to play up a bit... but I wont get rid of it... until someone makes a phone just like it... just like the one you want...

Jamie and I are friends on facebook. Now I'm starting to get to know all her real friends as well as AP friends. Besides, now that work bought me an iPhone, I can stalk her from anywhere!

Twitter is stupid. Myspace is crap and dodgy facebook.
Facebook is not too bad, it really depends on the user. Some of my younger acquaintences over use it and have very public information. Quantity of 'friends' is a competition! Like throwing open the door and saying 'Welcome all you stalkers and paedophiles' I tend to be might more reserved than that. I have met every person on my list at least.

Mom is afraid to change her cell phone service cause she is afraid that they will make her get a new phone and she likes her old simple nokia too much. My cousin used one of those good old nokias for a year after she took it swimming....twice.
sigh :blackeye:

I'm an "old-timer" with computers and still use ICQ, along with AIM and MS Messenger. (Use trillian so I can use all 3 at the same time!) :geek:

My real addiction is logging in to this crazy forum every morning when I get to work, and then again at night.....still can't absorb all the great info in here!

Ok my 2 cents worth

I dont dissagree with the general concesus here but..., when kids become teenagers and they dont talk to there parents as much as u would like and its not through lack of trying from the parents or they move away and they are facebook active I find out more out about their emotional states and whats happening in their lives by logging into facebook, sad but a reality. The are normally willing to post it for their friends to comment on on facebook but no matter how hard u try with phone calls etc u wont find out. I have many overseas friends and although I call them regularily i keep track of their lives by it a well, so yep all the things in this forum are true but I use it how I need for fun, and as Kuda said, be selective about ur friends, I have several AP people as friends on FB, my 2 cents worth, do I get change lol
