i guy i spoke to yesterday in the pub said that he used to go and buy cheap brand cat food pellets and use them as fish food. Then every one chirped in about the merits of using cat food as burley whilst fishing.

BF, different types of commercial feed was discussed here, including dog & cat food - there are chemical additives which are not really what is required for the growing of fish

*Fish Food*

any way, have a read

In hind sight, maybe the PG in dog food is better than the Ethoxyquin in fishfood

VB, I will be glad to buy some 4mm pellets from you. I normally buy them at the local Aquarium at browns plains.... They do last a long time especially when most of the fish are dead !!!!!

Okay - would it be better if I collected from vb and brought them down, with 20 fish, I shouldn't need more than 5kg.

In future we could share a 25kg bag - thoughts?

Happy to part with 5kg to each of you - if the logistics work out. Would mean you picking it up from me before you head off to Muzzas Ell. When are the fish arriving.

Might be easier for you to pick a bag up from Mt Gravatt on the way to Muzzas. Doesn't worry me either way - I will chuck the excess in the freezer if need be.

Okay, I can grab a bag on the way to Murray's and divvy it up - is there any one else in the Brissie area, AndyWhite are you interested - you can pick it up from Muzza's and pay him for it when you collected your fish.

We can share a 25kg bag or if there is enough interest then 2 bags:

I am after 5kg
Muzz 10kg?

Mate, I only need 5 kg right now, but I will take 10 if that will help. I will just go with the flow, now that I am a senior citizen.

Muzza.

Hey Ell,

How about you come past my place on your way to Murray?

I just got a 25 kg bag of the 4mm pellets and realise that it will take me a long time to get through this. So if you and Murray want 5 kg each I'll be almost halfway through.

And if Murray can spare some more Silvers I might be tempted to drop some of them in with the Jades. Shouldn't be a problem mixing Silvers and Jades I would have thought? I will take 50 to add to the 70-something Jades. 120 fish in the large 2000 liter tank should be OK.

Karel

I don't know that I will need the pellets really, one of my kids gave me some fish for my birthday that they reckon I cant kill and don't eat much.

Nice lips! What are they called? Orange sweetlips? The one on the left looks like he's just seen a shark!

Is that 'sea cucumber' next to them? :D

Have you thought of breeding and offering for sale to members? Might be a good option if they are this tough...
