Well... feeding again tomorrow morning me thinks.
Nice shiny clean tanks - gotta keep the veggies alive.

Unless Milne would advise against it? (only singling him out cos he saw 1st hand - everyone else is welcome to advise against too ;-) )

Kuda, do a full range of tests before you do anything else...

(1) It will give a baseline...

(2) You've stirred things up a lot in the last couple of days... your readings could be spiking...

Done some investigation, almost everybody sells it.
however the prices fluctuate from pricey to ridiculous!!!!!

I was quoted $80!!!
Place round the corner from me is $48, but out of stock. :-(
The search continues.

Out of interest I asked about phosphate tests... $35 just for that... I decided it wasn't worth it, especially as I'd be too lazy to use it often and log the findings ;-)

For anybody who missed it, the web address is: http://www.growfresh-aquaponics.com.au/

OK Thanks to Dean I have a shiny new test kit.
I will test tomorrow night, as I've only just got home.
I also have some water from when things went bad. - however I just found that container in the sink, and my MIL was visiting on the weekend, so it could be that the sample is contaminated now :-(
That'll teach me for not labeling things

Hey KP, did you have mussels in the system? Specifically in the sump? I am wondering whether the action of mussels digging into the sediment at the bottom is enough to stir it up or maybe just keep it from going anerobic.

Yes and no.
I have mussels, and no they do not stir up sediment. "Action" is a very overexaggerated term for their movements
