Not sure if you already know.

I found this planting guide useful to plan for what I can grow and when.

http://www.edenseeds.com.au/content/planting.asp

You can order from them over the net as well.

Once again no Arid section :(

The planting times are all screwy for any of the other climate zones applied to out here...

I can guarantee that if I planted broccoli in december (temperate zone) they will all be dead within 2 weeks. They dont handle 40 degree temps very well.

Same with cabbage in december (tropical zone)...none of the zones take into account the waaaay higher daily temps in the desert.

I know how you feel there OBO, most planting guides here in the USA are meant for the temperate zones (as are most gardening books) so I just use the general farmers almanac guides for when to plant above ground or below ground crops and use my own experience to figure out which ones will do well for which seasons. However, there is a University of Florida planting guide for some general garden veggies and they even break it down into North, Central and South. Unfortunately I think it was written decades ago and the climate/zones have shifted a bit since then.

Now in the desert you get far more extreme temperatures but far less problem with high humidity (makes shade cloth far more effective in the heat of summer) Your results in your system make me think you have figured things out quite nicely despite the lack of a guide for your climate. I expect you should be planting the cool weather crops at the start of your cool season to grow through your winter rather than in December (while I need to plant broccoli before December so it can enjoy the freezing weather in January. Broccoli seems to like waking up with Ice on it.)
