Hi All,
This is my first post here at BAP, :)
It seems that Hydrotron is quite expensive, but very easy to use and proven. but to fill a grow bed with a volume of 900 liters is going to cost $720.
it seem that grow media has been talked about a lot but how about Versarock?
I don't even know what it is?
Regards
Matt

From memory it's a baked ceramic... some of the orchid growers were experimenting with it a few years back... only thing I could find in my bookmarks were a Vic supplier called Duralite...

http://www.duralite.com.au/

And the only reason I bookmarked them originally was as a supplier of Potassium BiCarbonate..

I know they supply it... and it's mentioned in their products... but no specs or MSDS..

Give them a call maybe...

Shop around for your hydrotron. I got on to a garden/hydroponics place in Melbourne that had imported a large lot of German made clay balls half the price of your hydroton and just as good. Only thing was that their bag size was smaller that hydroton so check the volumes when quoted prices. Be aware that there is also a cheap (chinese??) product around also that will cause problems.

Ask them for a pallet rate... you'll have a few bags left over... but you'll use them..
