I did a podcast on Aquaponics and I have been getting requests to do more podcasts on the subject. One email asked about using, used above ground swimming pools. I thought you used one before. Anyway, I was wanting to do another podcast on aquaponics and I was wanting to interview you for the show. Let me know. You can email me at JohnnyMAX(at)Brewcrazy.com or pM me here with a number that I can call you at. I am only about 3 hours West of you, just over the Texas border. Out of all the shows I have done, the aquaponics got the most response. We have done a few shows and we are now getting over 3,000 show downloads from 47 countries and I really want to promote aquaponics. I need to mention this site more too, because it is a great resource.

Wow congrats on the pod cast stats! but I didn't use the pool in an ap system only had fish in it over a season. The bluegill did great in the pool but the catfish croaked. What I think happened was I used the treated pool water figuring the chlorene evaporated but the copper based algecides were still in the water. The 25' x 4' pool had such a large volume I really do not think the Ammo, nitrite or nitrate had a chance to accumulate to problem levels. I had used a septic tank airator, which really put out a lot of air. Storm blew a tree down on it but I plan on using a 12' x 4' pool for my large system with IBC grow beds and sump. But I have been somewhat preoccupied. Aquaculture of Texas is using them to grow out larval fresh water prawn. I think a 25' above ground pool would be difficult to balance fish and plants without a whole lot of fish and a huge amount of growbeds, if you didn't have enough nutes coming from the fish the plants would have to respirate a lot of water to get them which would make them leggy at best. I ordered a 12' x 4' pool liner and when cut in half my pool wall is perfect for the 12' pool. Just need to fold metal at the seam and redrill hole pattern. This setup will be easy to do chift pist.
I would be glad to answer any questions but Dufflight has an actual pool in ap service and has the experience at it.

Okay Bill, sounds like you have learned a lot. Shoot me an email with a number I can call and lets talk aquaponics on a show. The interest is huge. Thanks, Johnny Max

It's the link in his signature, Nocky. I believe they are all prerecorded.
