Unfortunately not much you can do about that one now.
Like the above post keep on going things will all work out.
We have all had deaths and it isn't good.
This wind and rain is a real pain in the but though. I am having the same problem with water
levels at the moment. Also with my air pump blowing up while on holidays I need to buy a new
one tomorrow.
Hope all is well I am sure you will let us know tomorrow how things turn out.

The fish can suffer issues sometime back and without warning can fall over...
Lets see what tomorrow brings...
I had a death today, I did notice this one a few weeks back with a bung right eye.

Ivan the otto pump should be enough, I have 3 times bigger tank than yours and I have plenty of air, the fact your cycling 24/7 should also give it heaps, make sure your air stones aren't blocked and if they are you may have blown a diaphragm, so hold your finger over the end of an air line and see if you can feel a bit of pressure, no pressure then possible diaphragm, make sure your air pump is turned up to almost max, sounds stupid but I have had it running on low instead of high  but didn't cause any drama's
Hang in there Ivan

Found a few sinkers. Will publish the total when I have confirmed that there are no more left.

My tank has turned dark brownish green. Has it become toxic to the fishes? The fishes does not
look 100% still, but the most of them seem to have the energy to swim away when I get close,
as compared to last night where they are mostly gathering at the water surface.

I am draining and transferring some water out from the FT to check that they are not more casualities.

I also noticed that the walls have seemed to start being coated with browish green stain patches here and there. algae??

Nocky,
Checked my air pump. At max. Has got pressure on both outlets. Air stones look alright but they are blue ones. Did change yours to something better?

I have those and seem to be fine..
...just thinking could you create some bypass water in your sump, with a pipe running up to the surface?
A tee with a ball valve slightly open, just for the interim??

I changed mine to a 70" air hose, bit like a soaker hose with air fittings either end works great, you seem to have plenty of air ivan by the picks, mine ran for 2 months with the exact set up you have, only changed to the hose to help keep the bottom clean, which works well, Rick had water problems and fish problems after a big storm we suspect blue in some crap from surrounding paddocks, his fish had white spots and very sick not eating, follow his thread from here viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4665&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=240 a couple of posts down, but he did fix his problem with minimal casualties

Can I use this ball valve? It is T-off before it goes to the growbeds.
Only problem is that I may not have enough flow and pressure coz I have tested it once and the flow coming out of the hose is very low. I suppose if I have constantly flooding the growbeds already I could back the ball valves on the growbed back to the point that they still flood and hence more flow should be diverted to this outlet. Hopefully.

I presume this is for increasing aeration right?

By the way, how much water does trout really need? I have dropped the water quite low now. Low enough to see the bottom.

Ivan member Dbird has his fish in about 2' of water ATM I don't think it will be a problem unless the temp goes above 20, (Water temp), so watch that, problem will be getting fresh chlorine free water back in system and recycling with fish, I wouldn't add anything if you add freshwater, just let things go naturally, I have never added any additives what so ever, (except a bit of humonia before I had fish)

.yes and make sure you pump is not blocked up like mine was this morning
Major HSM  1 dead 1 sick... I took 5 trout to Dons and tested the water...
pH6 ammo 4 didn't test for the others I know they must be up there

Suppose to be at work

The hose could have a few holes put in it (small 2-3mm) they will draw in air (venturi)

Total count at the moment (including last night) - 10.

I was thinking if it is possible that some of them could have been dead from a few days ago, just
that I could not see them at the bottom and started polluting the water?

Anyway, drain the tank so that I can maintain visual of the bottom and watch for more floaters and sinkers.
Have used a pond vac to clean up the bottom. They was some sediment at the bottom but not sure whether it is sand, shit or food. Anyway, hope I got most of it now if it was the thing that was causing the deaths.

Well I have added some water from the tap and added some water ager with it. My idea was that if the water was toxic, I need to dilute the toxic water to reduce its toxicity.

How many water changes can we do in a day?

For the way forward, if I still have fishes towards the end of today, I will be filling buckets of water and let it stand for a few hours maybe, before adding the water in.
