I've applied for planning permission to put up my patio but may have to move the grow beds...it can wait until I'm ready with a trolley jack for that task. Not yet sure if I can avoid the 2m off boundary that has been highlighted but only the planning and building applications in place will provide that answer. Holding my breath!

Perth weather has not been kind to my plants but the tarp is holding its own so far!

Hi Creative I keep the fish tank covereand i had just removed the lid.they all come to the open section expecting food...there is a lot more room than the photo shows...the water is not that dirty either...yes they will be thinned out in a frying pan and i'm looking forward to that. Faye the broccoli heads are a few weeks away from eating even the kids are excited.

Well done Drew and family. Great way to teach children to eat healthy when they can plant and watch it grow, certainly is one of my fondest memories as a child.
My dad taught us how to grow from seed with the quick growing vege seedlings, radishes are probably the quickest and look good in salads, but the peas straight from the bush would probably be my favourite. Look forward to seeing your broccoli meal???

Welcome Drew nice progress, good luck with the council, you may have approval by next winter  if they move like ours, we are a bit luckier, just build and permit will turn up, they haven't knocked anything back yet 8) if they knock it back :dontknow: it's built anyhow

Well Nocky the approval has come back from the council and i'm all set to go...now I have to wait for some spare time as the next two months are booked out...If anyone is interested in cheap steel roof trusses I got mine for $70 each...They were made for someone else but did not fit when taken to site...the patio place had about 8 different sets from 2-4 trusses a set they were asking $100 a truss I got lucky.Much better than paying $400 a truss to get made up.
