we have tried to keep rabbits as pets for the kids and they all die of mixo after about 3 months or so. We are in Sydney so it is well and truly active here.

How to cook Ozy possum...
Boil for 3 days,
add your old boots and boil for another 3 days,
throw in a rock,
and cook for a further 24 hours.
Throw out the possum and enjoy your boots,
Top off with the rock cake

You can use the same recpie for Crow, Galah, Cockatoo and Wombat; just substitute blue metal for the boots!!

Thanks for summing that up Ian, hopefully your mention of most animals will preclude the use of this joke for a 5th time in this thread.

I was quite disappointed when visiting New Zealand, that I couldn't find possum on the menu, there was plenty of fur products, but no meat
FYI to our OS friends: Possums are native, and protected in Australia, but they were introduced to New Zealand, and so are hunted with a fury.

I believe there is an anti-virus specifically made for breeders/ pet owners. Not sure on price.

Pity there wasn't a virus specifically for pet owners... there's a couple of people down our way that thinks it's funny to breed their rabbits.. and let them go in the local caravn park when they've got too many...

As usual the few idiots ruin it for the majority,.......... then the governemnt / council steps in with harsh rules and everyone suffers.
From my perspective it is the same for Tilapia ,, if the IDIOTS hadn't let them loose in our rivers then responsible growers would be allowed to use this wonderfull fish,,,BUT that is not the way it is.

Same over here, Most people know the difference between right and wrong but some just insist on the wrong so we get more BS laws and less freedoms.

Yeah... if only we could get a law to steralise idiots so they can't breed...

We already did just exactly that over here in the US years ago. OF course now some lawyer who wanted a new boat or plane sued the government for them the tax payers are having to pay out a rather large settlement. Everything the government does cost us money

Besides, even if they were still doing it, who defines who is dumb. People growing food from fish waste might be considered dumb
