I would also like to know where to get these from.

I would like to thank everyone for there help re fish deaths. Since I joined the forum and
salted, changed feed etc I have had no fish deaths.
I will leave it a little while longer and then start re stocking to get the nutrient going again.
Unfortunately with the lack of nutrient the plants have stopped growing, but at least they are
still alive.

Thanks Rupert should I only add it once a week or more regular while the nutrient is low?

Once a week is fine... when the system is stocked and more mature then many of us add it once a month anyway...

I will put some in on the weekend.
Another question about feeding. I am going away for a week on Saturday what do people do other than find someone to feed while away. Is there any other options.
I have seen some 7 day feeding blocks at the shop but what do people think of these.
Should I just feed them well before I go and put some duck weed in the tank.
Any help appreciated.

Delgrade,
Have you used any of his IBC's before.
I am interested to know if someone else has tried any.
I might have to be the guinea pig with the $100 ones.

I usually get someone (Gnash) to come around and check water levels, and feed the fish once every day or two. I dont know about the feeding blocks, but I dont think Trout, Perch or Bream would take them.

Well there are automatic feeders available on the internet (or ebay). They are battery operated devices that you put your regular feed into and set it to feed at certain times. I think OBO has one he used before as well. Not sure if he is still using it. You might be able to find them at some pet shops.

Well I checked the tank this morning and found another floater. Small goldie with part of tail missing. I thought I was doing so well without a death for a week and a half.
I hope they are not all dead by the time I get bakc from holidays. I will get someone to come and feed while I am gone.

Did all the test today to see how things are traveling.
PH, 7.6
Temp, 13
Amm, 0
Nitrite, 0
Nitrate, 5

Found someone to look after the fish while I am away so don't need to worry about that.
Hopefully whatever was killing the fish has settled down and they will all still be there when
I get home.
