Yes it is a very good price. I am still tossing up if they will be OK.
OBO seams to think they will be OK.
Are the ones in Guildford specified as food grade or have they contained oils as well.

Delgrade,
Have you used any of his IBC's before.
I am interested to know if someone else has tried any.
I might have to be the guinea pig with the $100 ones.

1000L tank for $100 is a great price. Do you know if they deliver?

Not sure if they deliver Ivan but I may be able to help if I get one then I might to able to
deliver one to you. I might speak to them again tomorrow and I will ask if they deliver.
I would also like to try and find out exactly what was in them.
They said light oil but what does that really mean.
Maybe I am being to carefull but I don't like my fish dieing, I have already had enough
problems with that with my small bath system.

Sounds great if you are happy to drop one off.

Yeah fish dying is always an issue, but I think OBO's method of cleaning sounds reasonably good for the light oil ones.
Maybe you can also soak the tank for a while and dump the water later before using. Actually with rain we are experiencing around Perth, after washing according to OBO's method you can let the rain fill your tank up and soak it.

As an added step, maybe start with feeder goldfishes, they are cheaper. I think I paid $12 for 10. Possibly still not the cheapest but definitely cheaper than the $3 each ones.

Sounds good Ivan. I will definately look into it further and I will let you know before I
head down there and get one(or two).
I work in Canning Vale and the IBC's are in Kenwick so your house is not to far away.

Thanks OBO is water enough to wash out the degreaser.
I feel like more should be done but if that is all you did then I will go with that.

It is with quick break degreaser.

Take care, make sure you get them really clean - no residue should remain.

i used chlorine, but my ibc's didn't have oil in them they were full of glyphosate and mine are used as growbeds not fishtanks. I've had no deaths.

Hope you triple rinsed and dried them... still if they've been in use for sometime, then any residues should hopefully have been diluted below any harmful point... and I'm sure you're plants would have exhibited any harmful affects by now...

Yeah, thats about the right price for 20 litres of degreaser, that should do 4 or 5 IBC's depending on how thick the oil is.

Oh, and I only used a quick break because of the oil seperator, you can get away with normal which is probably a bit cheaper.
