Are you human?: Only after 10am

I stressed at them levels but fish were ok, still seems strange you have no Nitrite, but if water is cold they will be ok for another day as you have no Nitrite problems, a read I had the other day suggests .3 as acceptable for short term, but if fish are bouncing around they aren't feeling it, if you change water now then your back to start, I hung in for 2 weeks and all has clicked, ammonia seems to be .25 for me and cant get any lower, but water temp is 10 and fish are jumping everywhere, hopefully OBO will pop in and put his 2c worth in, but hopefully won't go up anymore, maybe someone technical can explain the high ammonia and no Nitrites as yet,

I'd give them a feed tomorrow morning Darrel (1 spoon)... and test tomorrow night... if the ammo is still the same ... I'd give them another spoon... then starve them the next day...

Listen to above they have had trout much longer than me, C1 is the trout king Image but my Nitrites etc evened out and ammonia stays around 0-.25, I have 50 trout in 6000lts of water and that probably keeps things down a bit, atm feeding around 150gm (1 1/2 cups) and also veggies are raging which obviously helps.

I will abdicate and give the trone to Trouty...
Much more deserving
But thanks for your vote of confidence Nocky :flower: (how did you get that to spin)

I have to say the 150 trout in the 3000ltrs are starting to look like sardines
I need to get the other tanks commisioned... sometime soon :blackeye:

When, I am not sure  , also I will be putting a school into Dons' FT 8)

Test results today.
Amo 2, Nitrite .25 finally getting a reading, Nitrate 0, PH 7.2
The nitrites are starting to show now at .25 so I spose the the Nitrate wont be too far behind, so if I am right the Amo should start to drop over the next few days. I fed them last night and although the am was 2 I still fed them again tonight.
Will test and see

That's interesting Darrell... talked to Bree about ten minutes ago and she has exactly the same readings... with nitrite showing today for the first time...

A couple of milder days with some warm weather has helped and hopefully they'll continue for a few more...

My nitrites went up to almost 5 darrell before I got a Nitrate reading so again don't stress if the fish are still bouncing around, Amm will come down and rates will go up a lot, should start evening out by the weekend

Thanks Nocky
The readings are the same tonight, maybe the amo is down a little. No Nitrate as yet but the plants are raging and the fish are happy so all is well. Nitrites are still showing so it wont be long.

Test results today.
Amo 2, Nitrite .25 , Nitrate 0, PH 7.2
Feeding every day now 1 table spoon, amo not getting any worse goes up a little down a little so not too concernd.
Still no nitrates showing so I spose plants are sucking them up, They are growing and are a lush green, so they are ok, fish are zooming around the tank and one jumped out yesterday when i had the lid open for feeding. Got him back in ok. One more gold fish dead today with its fins gone and its eyes picked out. The price you pay when hanging out with 50 hungry trout
Should I increase my feed is one table spoon enough :?:
