I got the instructions off the Better homes and gardens web site, and built it myself.
Took about 5 full days of labour to knock it up not quite how the show it on the show.
Cost me about a grand for the materials, $380 just for the concrete slab.

Test results today
Amo still up but the no2 and no3 have dropped to virtually o and the ph is stable, why would my no2 and no3 not be showing any readings?

True but the readings were not like this after the water change, they were still quite high for several days its been the last 3 days that things have gone the way they are, very little rain. Is the AMO too high should I stop feeding.

It's not desperately high ... but I'd probably drop a feed out and test again tomorrow...

Won't be long now, bet your nitrite is on the way up.
the colours are not as pretty as mine were :geek:
Mine were much more vibrant
So not to worry 8)

The water change would have dilluted the colonies and that is history.
Now you have a change from nitrate 40 to 0 you know there is action happening.

I am of the opinion that reducing food will also reduce the action of nitrification,
a bit like water changes...
but this is in the later stages of a new system beginning to cycle, and NOT during
a HSM
IMHO only

Are you human?: Only after 10am

RWTD mine was about the same for a while, I am surprised your nitrite is 0 with ammonia at 1, mine zeroed out about the same time, nitrite was about a day behind amm, then the nitrates went up, haven't checked nitrates for a while but amm as steadied out to about .25 with zero nitrite so will put up with that while fish are still bouncing around

Hi Nocky,
I dont understand why there is no nitrite if there is so much Amo present, I would have thought if one is there then the others should be too. :?: Espessally if I have such high readings a week ago of both No2 and No3.
Anyway one more of the mystries of AP unfold.
