Nocky... are these a legal import? Well nigh on anything';s legal in WA... if you can get some, I'd be most interested if they were legal in this "Tight as a fish's ass" state we live in.

Nooooooo Nocky...hang out man.

If i could show you how many there are out there-- and by god i will at some point this year-- thats bloody criminal price to pay.....

I just won my $70 IBC!!!
pick up tomorrow and simply cannot wait for renos to be done in 6 months to get going, so will be starting a v simple mini-system asap.

gonna base it around yabbies/mussles/and hopefully these shrimp to get system cycling over coming weeks.

i promise you that i shall get some of these shrimp by hook or by crook in next few months, even if i have to drive out there myself ( hoping a friend of mine who travel out there a few times a year can bring me a load back if i set em up with the box n aerator)

and you just pay the freight to get em to you or somesuch...we may need ruperts help with his oxy bottle to get em set for freight......whatever you do, dont line these charlatans pockets....you could get a mesh trap full in 1/2 hour in the macquarie......bastards......

Kuda, can't say for sure as i only know from experience they are def in the macqaurie river in west nsw...but v good chance they are in the murray, as this species are described as being from the 'murray darling basin' so,....if you dont live too far from the Murray,or the Darling river, might i humbly suggest a weekend drive to either with a few mesh bait traps with sunlight soap in em might be a worthwhile experiment???

you might get a nice surpirse....there's a fisheries paper somewhere online i read years ago that described the distribution of machrobrachuim australienese...just too lazy to look for now sorry...but will have a look later on and see if i can find for you.

:-D

Sounds like a good chance you might find em down Vic then Kuda...off tho the Murray you go! Myself, shall be heading out to dubbo at some stage.

Dunno how many might be left in the Bogan River...hope theres some water left in the system....i was out there @ peak hill way a few years back and went to have a look at a weir on the Bogan and it was really sad.
The locals were showing me where they used to jump off the back end of the weir and it was just a 25 foot fall onto concrete/rocks when i was there....
