Day after day the rain still falls, the readings remain the same, (well amonia drops a little) the fish still feed and the world goes around, is it really all that easy lol

Well, add an automatic fish feeder and it get easier, lol. The ammonia should go away.

everyone talks about feed rates compared to fish mass or weight, should we every now and again drag one out and weight it or are we just looking and thinking yep looks around 200 gm, still a lot to learn

Nitrate - 0
Nitrite - 0
Amonia - 0.5 (I find this strange due to the amount of rain in the system thought it would be nothing)
PH - 7.2
water temp - 10-12 deg

OK... add an extra tablespoon for a couple of days.... and see what your readings are...

If you get a spike... go back to just the two tablespoons until the spike has levelled off...

Looking at them wont tell you the weight :D

I probably would not be pulling any out until the system has become stable. Removing a fish and stressing it out, then putting it back into less than optimal water quality is a recipe for sickness.

When its all settled pull 4 or 5 out and weigh them, take the average, and try to feed to that. Dont force feed however = dead fish.

We do have some length/weight figures somewhere for trout.
Mine are around 120mm and 100grams so 1gram food each

Actually I don't think we do C1... we have both a Jade & Silver Perch "Weight Vs Length" thread and graph... but not a trout one....

Perhaps someone could start one so that we can collate data for future reference...
