Ok, update time, I have just recieved delivery of about 200 more jade fingerlings (Yay, thanks Bruce ! :) ), approx 50mm in length. After some chasing them down (someone was going to send them to Cairns!!) they were duly dropped off by the side of the highway unattended and left near someones gate about 6km from the address they were supposed to be delivered to, oh and of course it is impossible to ring the phone number on the box if it is a landline, everyone seems programmed these days to only be able to ring mobile numbers!! Thanks Courier company!
So after a few more "relay "phonecalls they were collected and spent about an hour sitting inside their plastic bags inside the Quarentine IBC, aclimatizing.
Then the bag was opened a bit and allowed to mingle with IBC water (3ppt salt)

This is were they are now.

So far only one floater, little "pinched in" belly (see pic)

Seeing as we still have nearly 250 bigger ones, these ones won't hit the BBQ plate for another 18 months I reckon

I have just checked on the new arrivals and the good news is NO floaters! Yay!, J will return to a full complement of Jade babies and I won't get a smack for losing any ;) They do seem to be slightly hungry tho :) I sprinkled a little bit of pellet dust into the IBC and the all rose up and fed.

I have been awake since 4.30am with my mind racing over an idea I have been having over the last year or so. More later when I have actually done something about it.

Alx
