Im working on something & need some advice from someone who knows alot about car paint ( namely the clear coats ) and how different paints will / might react with each other over time

so ...

Anyone on the forum got experience painting cars ( trucks , bikes , boats .... ) ?

I used to paint cars, and I remember that you never mix the top coat with the clear or the bse coats, primers etc... ie, if you use an enamel top coat, you must use an enamel clear.. and if you use an acrylic undercoat, you must use an acrylic top coat and clear. I think from memory, the etc primers that you paint the bare metal with are universal. (but best place to ask is at an auto refinishing supplies place)
