Said Stu the gallant fishmonger,
it's for silvers my clients do hunger,
for despite their good rap,
those TROUT are just crap,
it's perch that make men feel younger

from a mate who just polished off 3 bottles of wine with me:

Before you get any glummer
that your TROUT died over summer,
just listen to Stu,
he'll say what to do,
Silvers will avoid a big bummer.

and between us:

Before you get any glummer
think of those people over summer,
whose TROUT will be lost,
great emotional cost,
not to mention they'll feel a lot dumber.

2 minute entry, not sure if it makes sense, but hey, I'm drunk:

some prefer trout over perch
but no matter how much ppl search
despite how devout
they are to have trout
they will just end up in the lurch

I fear the quality is in proportion to the time spent composing:

We all like to drink heaps of grog,
but despite how I do like to blog
the rules as stated
although outdated
require trout be mentioned! I'm agog!

I'm thinking perhaps I should stop, go to bed and be refreshed for the morning.
but

There once was a man from Belgrave
Who kept some live trout in a cave
he said I admit
the light is quite s***
but it's tender fat fish that I crave.

Do you have trout? was requested of Monya,
What's wrong with silvers I ask ya?
They're just not like trout
and we're all about
fish that grow fatter and longer!

There was once a young lad from Adelaide
who bought a fish farm ready made
he raises silver perch in his dam
and prefers goat on a spit to lamb
TROUT just don't make the grade

It's unanimous in the west
we show them to our guests
Stu you will have to agree
there's no better than thee
Trout are the best of the best

I'm sitting here drinking a beer.
So a limerick I'll write, no fear.
What is it about?
Oh yeah, it's trout!
...what ever... here is a cheer.

These silvers you run are so yummy,
but their growth is really quite crummy
My trout go so strong
and don't take so long
to grow big and fill up my tummy

Trout just can't handle the heat,
In short they're really quite weak.
They need lots of air
and much gentle care
lest they end up bloated dead meat.

Silver Perch are naught if not
Reliably tough but they've got
some trouble with growing
in winter they're slowing
at least they wont die when it's hot.
