You/we have been volunteered to pay it. Our money is backed by the full faith and credit of the american people. All I can think to do is file a public document to document that I do not back the government credit and reserve all land and rights. Then perhaps when the poo hits the fan there might be a chance to reclaim land in international court.

Yep, both are wrong. No one wants to walk the line "down the center."

I find it more funny that people want to reclaim their rights by playing their game and pass bills and decrees. If you keep playing their game we will loose.

I hope someday everyone wakes up and just simply lives by the supreme law of the land or at least natural law and ignores all other law. When someone passes a law that you cant drink water without tax we have every god give right to drink water without paying, do it anyway.

Dan D - at least you're in Texas who has in their constitution the right to secede and let the Feds figure out the finances. Last time NC tried to secede, they were told, in no uncertain terms, that they would not be allowed to.

depends on what you mean by "fix" - the way you fix a chair, or the way you fix a cat?

I'm still celebrating the fact that Bush and all his cronies are finally gone. They should send all of 'them' to gitmo for a tribunal. Hope they 'fry' karl rove today btw.

Actually no, he has proven to be pragmatic and many on the left who hoped for more left-leaning changes to happen are pissed off that he hasn't been left-leaning enough. I hope and expect a person who is elected president to become more pragmatic within the first 100 days when the realities of the situation kick in. If a person remained steadfastly dogmatic rather than pragmatic I would call them delusional, ala faith-based instead of reality-based.

God bless Obama, he's got a lot of messes to clean up.

The states that want the most to secede tend to be ones which receive more federal funds than generate. Good riddance.

A fun map:

Hawaii gets more than their fair share of fundage, but I wouldn't want them to secede.

It's not even legal for Texas to secede, so the governor was just blowing smoke out of his ass to charm the conservative voters.

Didn't someone try to secede before? I thought that was called the Civil War.
