They were delicious faye
I kept 2 but were a bit small to sex, we got a definite female but not sure about the male
Koonacs are the best to eat (besides Marron) and the easiest to grow but they are the most aggressive little suckers, will try and get some to you after winter

4 days after first tests things are normal except for a spike in PH, up to 8.8  but hopefully will cycle out pretty quick or the 2 koonacs that survived the pot will probably wish they didn't

PH today is around 7.8 and all other readings are normal, so things are coming along, will put Pygmy Perch, Marron, Mussels in Sunday when I empty other Tank, will be interesting to see if Mussels have breed and also if the glass shrimp are still in tank, so will keep you's posted. I will be in Perth around Carousel Saturday the 2nd of May so if anyone is around and wants to say gooday PM me and I will give you my Mobile No, may also go to BYAP and give Joel some more Ruddy Dollars

Well today is the day (Not when the Teddy bears have their picnic) but I empty the original Tank, what I hope to find is Marron & Juveniles, Mussels and Juveniles, Pygmy Perch, Shrimp and at least 2 Blue Marron, what I will probably find is Jack Schitt  but will post Pic's later today

Lots of fish sh!t, around 20 extra mussels around 10c piece size, No Marron :upset: but we did find a bit of shell so I think they carked a fair while ago, and Pygmy Perch, funnily only around 100, I found more 2 weeks ago with a net but tank has been neglected since new project, only found 1 dead PP so I wonder if they are cannibals, we also found 1 extremely juvenile PP in the crap, this also makes me wonder if they are cannibals, also found around 40 shrimp (Missus had fun sifting crap  ) this again is how many I put in, but they were varying sizes, so we will see how they go in their new home, at the end of the day very disappointing but a lot of Sh!t, it was a learning curve and the in tank filter wasn't good for cleaning out the crap, but was good for keeping the water clear with no elements

20 extra mussels is a bit of a bonus. :D
From my experience with small SP disappearing up the pump, I reckon you may need something special to prevent PP hatching's suffering the same fate.

something I have discovered since having Pygmy's in new tank is they actually love Marron Pellets, so having so many PP I doubt the Marron were getting any food so hence their exit from the world, Pick up some trout from local dam this weekend so stanby

Trout are feeding well, but have to stop the temptation of feeding them (Hey Monya did you know that trout hit their food real hard 8) ) as ammonia up a bit after day 4 of 50 fish
PH 7.2 (Steady)
Nitrite .5 (Up Slightly)
Nitrate 0
Ammonia .25 - .5 (Steady for 2 days)

Plants doing excellently well, not stressing yet about ammonia will see how it is Saturday and if up will change some water
