Well if it really is working well now, then over paying to get a combination of fittings to work is just a lesson of what to do better next time.

Hey, I wont slug you for anything B already did that.

FYI I buy 6m of 50mm for $18 at my plumber.
B only have 3m, so I would need to buy 2 and a fitting.
3m is $16 and a joiner is $2 as well as ugly and more work.

So the one Sunday I went to B (and came home empty handed) I would have been ripped off $16, that's over 90% extra.
Other fittings and peripherals are similarly overpriced.

What's not, are the imports, the bargains or loss-leaders. Most garden stuff, some of the tools.
Keep away from anything tradesmanly if you don't want to get stung. This goes for timber, plumbing, high end tools, pumps and general hardware.

Note, bolts and screws can be cheap at B, but only cos they're imperial sizes. All the old machines got sold cheap, and now they pump out millions of units that are generally unusable for manufacture, so are very cheap. I defy anybody to find cheap metric bolts and screws.

On the upside, they have a good range, and it's most often easy to find what you're after and get most of it at the one place.

Sorry for my 1 line post that turned into a rant. :-(
