This is my system, it has been running for about a month. there will be shade cloth covering the structure that has been build for the system, just waiting for it to be sewn.

In addition to the shade cloth over the whole thing, you will probably need a hat for the fish tank. Ya want to bounce the fish back into the tank rather than letting them find out what's on the other side.

Welcome!!!!

I don't know how high silvers can jump so the space between the water level in your picture and the top of the tank (if that is stable) might be enough for them. I've even lost a catfish that jumped out of a tank and some one was trying to tell me that catfish don't jump. Granted my tank didn't have much space between the top of the water and the top edge of the tank but all my tanks have covers of some sort now. Helps keep leaves and stuff out of the tank too.

the level in the tank is down a bit and i have filled it since the photo was taken.
I have a friend that has two tanks the same as mine(5000l) in his shed with 150 silvers in each and none have done the jump yet, i will tell him that it is a possiblity.

okay that is a very cool tank, is it a BYAP one or a random stock trough? What size is it?
Any way you will need a bigger growbed pretty soon.
Congrats on starting, Nick

If you havn't stuck the pipes together in the gb (you don't need to) it may be wise to point the holes downward to avoid algae and collar rot.

I'd move the ft under the tin for shade and then you have more room for gb's. Silvers do jump if they get startled. I was cleaning the bottom of the pool and one jumped out of the water.

thanks. there should be about 170 silvers in the 5000l tank but i found one dead yesterday . Do they always float when thay die?
The water has only just started to clear up, so i havn't seen them for a while but, when i have seen them are about 15mm to 35mm long. I have tin to make a roof over the ft to keep more sun off the water.
