looks good. I like the goat covers.
Could still move 1 gb under cover next to the BBQ. But it would need a seperate pump.

The girlsike their coats, at least with that colour you can see them easy in the paddock, mind you the white ones are a swiss breed so I dont know what they do over there in the cold and snow, maybe they are just spoilt, I know they are spoilt, I think one day I will extend the pergola, not going to move the grow beds as they are anchored to the earth way to well

The layout was determined by the tree roots from the pine tree in the background, basically couldnt dig the tanks in so the grow beds are really high and ill mulch and fill around them

Hi All

Now that the system is up and running I have some observations and questions-
(I have a standard flood and drain BYAP system so please lets not get into the chift pist effeciency discussion)

Cycle times - the standard seems to be 15 on 45 off, now this fits in with a lot of cheap timers on the market and the 60 minutes on a clock but I was wondering on the science behind it. Are we cycling for 15 minutes to fully fill the grow beds or are we cycling for this time to aerate the water, my pump can fill 3 or 4 grow beds in a couple of minutes so I have govered it back to take longer but still its quick and the water is then flowing over the top of the drain tube and exiting into the fingerling tank.
So either I need the 15 minutes for aeration and I could go to a much smaller pump which would be much more efficient and just pump slower like a Jeboa 3000 or I could just cycle the pump on for a shorter time requiring me to get a fancy timer

(this question is based around the power consumption of the 350 w pum I presently have and minimising my footprint and not useing up all the power generate by my solar cells)

Water Levels - The top of the drain tube I think should be about an inch below the grow medium I think, is that correct?, Should the water get high enough to just slightly see ponding on areas where the grow medium has a depression, I know probably shouldnt have depressions, my evil, perfectionist gemini twin will one day sort that lol

There will be more to come

Thanks all
Love and light

Bree
