I go with 27kg of 59.5248108 pounds for the yanks...

Are there only 2 measuring systems??? Imperial and Metric, surely other cultures must have something different?

Or is it like numbers, where the most common form of identifying numbers is the (I will say english but only out of ignorance) way.

I asked an Indian colleague of mine to right the number 5 in his local language/script and he couldn't. He could speak and write words in his language, but not write numbers. All his life he had learnt numbers like an englishman. - his words not mine. Interesting. huh. I work in a very multicultural workplace (IT) and have since asked many other people the same question. The Japanese can write the numbers but do not always choose to.

Wow! Reminds me of a tomato plant that was growing in a hydroponic reseach facility in Japan many years ago: That one grew like a tree, and was a perrenial. (It surprises many people that, in their native South America, many varieties of tomatoes are often perrenial plants.)

That is a very impressive tomato plant!
Put me down for 24.5kg and colour me green with envy! :)

FJ, I had to learn a new numbering system when I went to Egypt, arabic numbers seem especially tricky to a westerner, at least they were for me, because some numbers are similar to western numbers, yet they have different values.. ( see pic below)

But of course this is only the representation of figures, so far as weight measurements, there are many, though I'm not sure how many are in common use today in different cultures.
This site gives you an interesting insight into different weight measures used in different countries http://www.onlineconversion.com/weight_all.htm

For those of you who didn;t see the updated tomato pick, see below..

Seeing that I haven't entered I'll go for 68kg - much more entertaining than Simmo's
